# Claude Code

> Add Stophy to Claude Code as a remote MCP server so your agent can search the web and pull live data from 161 endpoints across 41 sources.

## Prerequisites

* [Claude Code](https://code.claude.com)
* A Stophy API key in `STOPHY_API_KEY`. [Get one](https://stophy.dev/signup).

No key yet? Start [without one](/mcp-server/keyless) or [sign in with your browser](/mcp-server/oauth).

## Add Stophy

claude mcp add --transport http stophy https://api.stophy.dev/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $STOPHY_API_KEY"
```

Your shell fills in the key when you run the command, and Claude Code saves it for this project on your machine. Add `--scope user` to use Stophy in every project.

To also get one tool per endpoint for some sources, put `toolsets` on the URL:

```

## Check it

Run `claude mcp get stophy`, or type `/mcp` in Claude Code. Then try:

Use Stophy to find the top Reddit posts about Bun this week and summarize them.
```

## Troubleshooting

* **The server shows `401`:** the key is missing or wrong. Run `claude mcp remove stophy`, check `echo $STOPHY_API_KEY` prints something, and add it again.
* **Two `stophy` servers:** remove one with `claude mcp remove stophy`, then start a new session.
